Hubble's Variable Nebula

Hubble's Variable Nebula, also known as NGC 2261, is a reflection nebula located approximately 2,500 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. It is illuminated by the young variable star R Monocerotis and is notable for its changing appearance over short periods, believed to be caused by shadows cast by moving dust clouds near the star.
