Lynds' Dark Nebula (LDN) 1622

Lynds' Dark Nebula 1622 (LDN 1622) is a dark molecular cloud located near the plane of the Milky Way Galaxy, close to Barnard's Loop in the constellation Orion. It appears as a silhouette against a faint background of glowing hydrogen gas and is a region of active star formation.
