Messier 8

Messier 8 (M8), commonly known as the Lagoon Nebula, is a vast emission nebula and stellar nursery located about 5,200 light‑years away in the constellation Sagittarius. Spanning approximately 110 by 50 light‑years, it is ionized by embedded massive stars, creating bright, colorful gas clouds interspersed with dark dust lanes and pockets.
